The personal information of about 600 employees of Ohio Masonic Home was on a laptop stolen from auditing firm Battelle & Battelle.

What was the response? Ohio Masonic Home notified employees in person and by letter. The organization will also provide them with credit-monitoring service.

Battelle and Battelle has met with clients to discuss how losses would be handled.

Details:
Multiple letters of authentication are required to access the data on the machine.

Battelle was conducting the organization’s pension plan audit when the laptop was stolen from an employee’s vehicle.

Hi, I work for an international discussion programme on BBC World Service radio and today (Wednesday) between 6pm and 7pm London time (1pm to 2pm East Coast Time in the States) we plan to talk about whether people trust their governments with their personal data, in light of the loss of the computer discs by a government agency in Britian. If you would like to take part in the discussion please send me your phone numbers to martin.vennard@bbc.co.uk or call me on 442075570635 and I will call you straight back.
    Many thanks
