Ohio suffers yet another breach after PCs stolen from warehouse
Thieves stole three computers from a warehouse in Columbus, Ohio.
What kind of personal information? Social security numbers.
How many victims? 3,500 people who signed up for the Mobile Tool Library, a program that lends residents power tools, lawn mowers and other home maintenance equipment.
What was the response? The city is offering $34,000 in identity theft protection services.
Details: Officials said the information on the computer will be difficult to access because it was password protected. The state is already reeling from data exposure after a state intern in June lost a backup tape containing personal information on 1.3 million workers.
