What happened? Data tapes moving among sites for backup were stolen from a vehicle of the courier company charged with transporting them.

What was the response? The credit union has notified all affected parties by letter and is considering implementing new security measures and policies to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Details: The credit union does not believe the thieves will be able to access the data due to special hardware and software needed.
